Małgorzata is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics. After her graduation, from 1979 to 2015, she worked in IT and classified data protection departments of the Ministry of the Interior and the National Police Headquarters. Originally, a programmer, she moved on to operating systems and computer network administration.
She was one of the first in Poland to delve into the matter of ICT systems’ security, and her efforts include one of the first standardisation documents on data protection in police systems. She is the creator and person responsible for implementing the first police intranet network, one of the first of its kind in the country.
For 20 years, she was the head of various organisational units of the National Police Headquarters, tasked with organisational and technical protection of police data. Her primary specialisation is personal data protection and the protection of sensitive data. When working on projects, she collaborated directly with experts from the Inspector General for the
Protection of Personal data, as well as the Internal Security Agency. She was the sole person responsible for creating the principal documents on information and communication systems’ security for the police. From 2002 to 2009, she performed tasks assigned by the Information Security Agency, and acted as a computer security inspector for the National Police Headquarters. From 2009 to 2010, she was assigned to the Computer Security Department of the Internal Security Agency. In the 2010/2011 academic year, she taught post-graduate students at the Warsaw Management Academy. Since 2010, as Head of the Department of Information Systems of the Communications and IT Bureau of the National Police Headquarters, she has provided technical supervision for the security solutions implemented in police IT systems. She was responsible for the information security management system’s compliance with the ISO/IEC 27001 norm. From 2013 to 2013, she was an expert on computer and personal data security in the Bosnian/Herzegovinian TWINNING programme. She completed a course for administrators and inspectors, pursuant to article 52 section 4 of the Act on the protection of classified information. She is also an internal auditor of the data security management system, in accordance with PN-ISO/IEC 27001:2007, and an internal auditor of the continuity management system, in accordance with ISO norms.
