Since 2000, he has been President of the Management Board of the Polish Motor Insurers’ Bureau, however, from 2010 to 2015, he was, notably, the Bureau Council President of the Green Card system, based in Brussels, directing National Bureaux operating in 48 insurance markets, compensatory institutions, guaranteed funds, and information centres, representing all the insurance markets of the European Economic Area.
He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and was also a recipient of the Munich Re scholarship.
He started his professional career in 1979, at a department of TUiR WARTA S.A. in Poznań, dealing in compulsory automotive insurances, starting out as a clerk, and eventually becoming Department Head. In 1990, he became Director of the Management Office of Wielkopolski Bank Kredytowy S.A., and, in 1992, VicePresident of the Management Board of Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeniowe TUK S.A. (currently, Gothar S.A.). In 1996, he became President of Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeniowe Gerling Polska. He co-founded, and was the first President of Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeniowe Gerling Polska Życie S.A., as well as co-founding FIAT Ubezpieczenia Majątkowe S.A (currently Benefia). From 1996 to 2005, he was a member, and later, President of the Council of the Insurance Guarantee Fund. In addition, from 1996 to 2000, he was President of the Council of the Polish Motor Insurers’ Bureau.
He is also a member of the Financial Market Development Council at the Ministry of Finance, and collaborates with the Institute for European Traffic Law in Trier.
He has authored publications on the Green Card System, and on the system of European directives, regarding civil responsibility insurance for motor vehicle owners, as well as on Polish insurance law.
