Professor Longin Pastusiak, an outstanding lecturer at the Vistula University, an Americanist, political scientist, historian, humanist, and politician, has just published his hundredth book, ’The World and Poland!’ This is an extraordinary, unique achievement in the scientific, and even publishing environment, on a global scale.
On the occasion of the publication of his latest work, we invite readers, friends of the Professor, and university staff, along with students, to an exclusive meeting with the author, which will take place on December the 11th, 2019, at 12.30 pm, in hall 2A.
The author will tell you about the birth of ideas for some titles, their themes, the circumstances surrounding their creation, over 55 years of co-operation with publishers, the number of titles translated into other languages, the reaction of readers in Poland and abroad, and the award-winning, but special, rare books.
The meeting will be an opportunity to see many original publications, talk to the Professor, and get a dedication, also in his hundredth book.
The Professor’s achievements include such bestsellers as: ’Presidents of the United States of America’; ‘400 years of Polish-American relations’; ’Poles in the US Revolutionary War’; ‘The Romances of US Presidents’; ’Women in the White House’; and ’Donald Trump. The first such President of the United States’.
Professor Longin Pastusiak, PhD, was a researcher at the Polish Institute of International Affairs in the years, 1993–2004. In the years 1991–2001, he was a member of the Sejm for the first, second, and third terms; and in the years 2001–2005, he was a Senator and Speaker of the Senate for the fifth term. The author of over 760 scientific publications, and over 6,000 journalistic articles, he is a lecturer at Polish and foreign universities, mainly in the USA, as well as in Canada and Europe. He has received many awards and decorations,
including the Order of the Cross of the Virgin Mary of the First Class (Estonia, 2002), the Honorary Companion of Honour of the National Order of Merit (Malta, 2002), Commander of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit for Lithuania (Lithuania, 2006), Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (Warsaw, August, 2015). Currently, we are proud to say, he is a professor at Vistula University.
