ISM Seminarium

Is this the end of Pax Europa? Professor AFiB, Jerzy M. Nowak, PhD answers this question on the state of the European order at the end of the second decade of the 21st century.

These are not good times for Europe. Nobody knows what social and political turmoil we are witnessing, or what we will leave behind. Will the ongoing processes ultimately strengthen Europe, or on the contrary,  weaken it?

The Institute of International Relations, AFiB Vistula, invites you to a seminar where the lecture will be given by  AFiB Vistula’s, Jerzy Maria Nowak, PhD an eminent diplomat, long-time  Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to NATO, and  President of the Euro-Atlantic Association.

His reflections will focus on the following topics:

  • the role and importance of European orders in maintaining stability;
  • the liberal European order after the collapse of the USSR and the end of the Cold War and what’s left of it?
  • crisis phenomena in the first decade of the 21st century – “disorder in order”, threats and disintegration factors in the second decade;
  • are there any chances to prevent chaos and create a new order – if so, under what conditions?
  • Implications of the weakening of the European order for Poland.

We warmly welcome

on January the 22nd, 2019, at 10:00 to Senate  Hall no. 21.
