The diploma thesis of Jarosław Wiśniewski, a student of Architecture at Vistula University, received a distinction in the 5th edition of the Jerzy Regulski competition, 2020, in the Idea category. Arch. Anna Jeziorska, PhD, was the thesis supervisor.
Jarosław Wiśniewski presented the idea of revitalising degraded areas, through the use of urban farms, based on the example of an engineering thesis, titled: ’Revitalisation of Bakalarska Street in Warsaw’.
In the Jerzy Regulski competition, awards are given to the best urban planning ideas in Poland, designed by following the principles of sustainable development.
The competition is organised by both the Jerzy Regulski Foundation for the Development of Local Democracy, and the Society of Polish Town Planners.
The Vistula University has already launched many talented architects on the market. Engineering studies in Architecture have existed for the last four years at Vistula. They are dedicated to people, who want to shape their own environment, and change the city space into a better and more functional one. Jarosław Wiśniewski, whose work was awarded in the Jerzy Regulski competition, took full advantage of this opportunity.
Congratulations to Jarosław, and we wish our students further success!
