• "AWCAT - APPLICATIONS AND WEB CONTENT ACCESSIBILITY TRAINING" PROJECT

    Vistula University participates as a partner in the „Applications and Web Content Accessibility Training – AWCAT“ №2017-1-PL01-KA203-038820 Project.  The project will contribute to the modernization of the higher education system in Europe and will work towards enhancing the quality of higher education by completing the existing gap in university courses for computer science students. The project will address the challenges and needs of the higher education sector in Poland and Bulgaria (lack of educational programs related to the accessibility of websites) by developing new and innovative training programs and supporting the dissemination of best practices. The training program will increase the qualification of computer science students in the labor market. It will also strengthen the links between education and professional development.

     

    Lead partner is Akademia Finansow I Biznesu Vistula uczelnia Niepanswowa, Poland.

     

    The other project partners are: Fundacja Instytut Rozwoju Regionalnego, Poland and Johannes Kepler University from Linz, Austria and Varna Free University, Bulgaria.

     

    Project duration is 24 months.

     

    On 9 and 10 July 2018 in Linz, Austria was held a second partner meeting under the „Applications and Web Content Accessibility Training – AWCAT“ №2017-1-PL01- KA203-038820 Project, “Strategic Partnerships”. The meeting was hosted by the project partner Integrated Learning Institute of Johannes Kepler University, Ling, Austria.

     

    The meeting was attended by representatives of all partner organizations from Poland, Austria and Bulgaria. The final version and content of the partnership agreement which have to be signed by all partner organizations as well as forthcoming payments from the lead organization to the partners for the project activities were discussed. The preparation and content of the curriculum which have to be drafted was also discussed. Discussions have also been held on a training manual that will be prepared under the project activities. It were discussed the implementation of the project so far and future activities.

     

    FIRST MEETING IN WARSAW, POLAND

     

    On 5 and 6 February 2018 in Warsaw, Poland it was held the First Partner Meeting under the EU funded Project “AWCAT – Applications and Web Content Accessibility Training”, No 2017-1-PL01-KA203-038820 under the Erasmus + Program, KA2 “Strategic Partnerships”.

     

    Host organisation was Vistula University, Poland, which is the Leading organization of the project.

     

    The meeting was attended by representatives of all partner organizations from Poland, Austria and Bulgaria. Each one partner presented its organization, set out its expectations of the project implementation and discussed the activities envisaged for implementation. The commitments of each partner and the deadlines for
    implementing the activities were specified.

     

    The participating European organizations got acquainted with the main ideas laid out in the project as well as with their responsibilities. The main activities, the expected results and the strategies for their achievement were presented. Several ideas were also discussed during the discussion panels which can contribute to a
    more complete realization of the project.

     

    Within the project a course for people with disabilities and other special needs, updated and adapted to national systems will be developed and will be tested at the universities in Poland and Bulgaria. This course will support the professional qualification of students studying computer science in Poland, Bulgaria and other countries. Course graduates will acquire skills in the range of accessible web content and interface they will use in their future professional career (eg web developers). In their future professional life they will be able to provide accessible products (ie websites, mobile apps, etc.).

  • Integrated Vistula of the Future – Vistula University

    Vistula University sets priority on implementing changes in the management of the education
    process and improving the quality of teaching. Our “designer” project has been appreciated by
    the European Union which has co-financed its development to the amount of 6 918 834.97 PLN.
    We plan to achieve the main goal of the project by implementing specific objectives:

    • 30 percent of graduates that are supported by the European Social Fund will continue education or take up employment within 6 months of completing education;
    • 199 people (including 89 women) will improve their competences as part of the University activities with the support of the ESF;
    • 60 people (including 30 women) – University employees, thanks to ESF support, will increase their didactic competences;
    • 20 people (including 10 women) – University employees, thanks to ESF support, will improve their managerial skills. The project is addressed to students, teaching staff as well as management and administrative staff. The participants of the project will be:
    • 45 students (including 15 women) who take up and complete their education at a higher
      level in the new field of education covered by the Energy Management project;
    • 24 students (including 12 women) of the last semesters of studies in the field of International Relations – full-time first-degree studies (commencing their studies in the academic year 2016/2017), who take up international internships;
    • 130 students (including 62 women), of the last 4 semesters of all faculties who complete trainings raising key competences;
    • 60 University’s research and teaching staff members (including 30 women) who complete
      training improving teaching skills;
    • 20 employees of the University’s management and administration staff members (including 10 women) who complete competence-enhancing training in management. Project implementation period: April 1, 2018 – March 31, 2022.
  • “IT is your success” – COMPUTER SCIENCE – VISTULA UNIVERSITY

    The project is aimed at providing support for 147 full-time students of the 1st and 2nd degree studies in the field of Computer Science, participating in higher education at Vistula University, in accordance with the needs of the economy, labor market and society in the period up to 31/12/2019.

    1. National internships for 147 students.

  • „Internships without borders 2” – INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS – VISTULA UNIVERSITY

    The project is aimed at providing support for 114 full-time students of the first and second degree International Relations studies, pursuing higher education at Vistula University, in accordance with the needs of the economy, labor market and society in the period up to 31/12/2019r.

    1. Domestic internships for 114 students.

  • “Managing the Future” – MANAGEMENT – VISTULA UNIVERSITY

  • Career Office - programming – Vistula University

    Project: Career Office – programming professional careers of Vistula University students

    Program: Operational Program Knowledge Education Development

    Source of financing: European Social Fund

    The project is aimed at raising competences corresponding to the needs of the economy and increasing the employability of 600 students (284 F and 316 M) of the Vistula University, by providing high quality services by the Career Office (CO) supporting students in starting their professional career by III.2020r.

    Tasks:

    • Individual career counseling for 600 UP (284 F and 316 M)
    • Counseling in the field of establishing a business; group run by AIP and individual run by DP.
    • Mentoring in the workplace for the most motivated persons – 50 UP.
    • Raising the professional competences of CO employees – 3 persons.
    • Purchasing tools for diagnosing competences.
    • Monitoring of UP’s professional careers – 600 UP.
    • Support provided to the student during the project will be directly related to the learning outcomes in the field of study that he / she is studying
