Full professor of economic sciences, Ph.D. in economics, since 1988; a former senior Fulbright scholar at the Department of Economics of Harvard University, professor of the Warsaw School of Economics and the Institute for Market and Business Cycles Research; dean of the Faculty of Business and International Relations; Director of the Institute of Economic Research of the Faculty of Business and International Relations; staff member and consultant of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and UNCTAD in Geneva; economic and commercial counsellor and a commercial counsellor-minister plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in France (1993-1998); in 2002-2006, a General Counsellor at the Ministry of Finance, member of the of Economic Policy Committee of the Council of the European Union (2003-2006);. in his research activity he deals with theory and policy of international trade, finances, globalisation, economic policy and economic and financial regional integration; since 2004, a member of the “Poland 2000 Plus” Forecast Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences; author of about 300 scientific works in economy, finances and international relations.
