In the world of business, conflicts are not a rare thing. Everyone has their own opinions, which they are passionate about, and wants things to go their way. When the parties are unable to come to an agreement, then an impartial, professional mediator steps in.

The aim of the Professional Mediation and ADR is to train specialists in conflict resolution in the free enterprise market, and in legal disputes, as well as international conflict management.

The Post-graduate programme at Vistula University complies with the professional rules of “classic mediation” of the norms of the European Negotiation & Mediation Academy (ENMA), developed for the United States Agency for International Development.

The Professional Mediation and ADR programme gives you the opportunity to develop your mediation skills in four sub-areas:

    1. International mediation,
    2. Economic mediation,
    3. Company restructuring mediation,
    4. Group dispute mediation and goodwill tours.

Before you become a mediator, however, you should first obtain a professional certificate.

Registered Mediator and Polish Chamber of Mediators’ Mediator Exam:

    • The exam takes 3 hours, and involves practical mediation and an interview, including a thesis defence.
    • The questions match the programme’s curriculum and the information from the materials received in class.
    • After passing the examination, the student receives the Certificate of the Association of Economic Mediators, and can apply for the national Registered Mediator qualifications, pursuant to article 183 1–15 of the Code of Civil Procedure, and Chapter VI of the Act on the system of common courts.
