Foreign Language Teaching Methodology - postgraduate studies
Post-graduate programmes are a perfect opportunity to acquire additional qualifications and gain new knowledge. The Foreign language teaching methodology programme has been designed for all those who would like to become foreign language teachers, but do not yet possess the teaching qualifications required by the regulations of the Ministry of National Education.
Vistula University meets these needs with its three-semester study programme, available for everyone with at least a Bachelor’s degree, and a C1 command of a foreign language. This is a necessary requirement for enrolment.
This programme involves 150 hours of internships, aimed at best preparing you to teach a foreign language. After graduating, you will obtain the necessary formal qualifications to work as a foreign language teacher.

Maciej Ganczar, PhD
Translator, author of language teaching publications, including the teaching of business and medical English, and business, legal and medical German. He is currently, the Studies’ Supervisor of post-graduate philology programmes at the Faculty of Modern Languages of Vistula University.
- Ministry of National Education Expert on foreign language textbooks.
- Former lecturer at the University College of German Language Teacher Education of the University of Warsaw, the Medical University of Warsaw, and the Department of Specialist Languages of the University of Warsaw and Università del Salento in Lecce (Italy).
- Member of the Mitteleuropäischer Germanistenverband and the International Hermann Broch Working Group (Internationaler Arbeitskreis Hermann Broch) in Washington.
Anna Szafernakier-Swirko, PhD
Anna is a Doctor of Philology, a certified linguist, a language teacher at heart, a language trainer, as well as a specialist on effective teaching, motivation, and soft skills. She has many years of experience in teaching Russian to adult learners, both in individual and group courses. She collaborates with companies, such as PricewaterhouseCoopers Polska, and Domański Zakrzewski Palinka, organising specialised language training programmes. She is also a long-time employee of Radio Poland’s Russian section. She certainly makes the most of her experience, passions, and interests, in her activities.
Izabela graduated with a psychology degree from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Post-graduate Teaching Course. She currently works as a psychologist in “Elfiki”, a private kindergarten, as well as teaching developmental psychology and psycholinguistics at the Warsaw School of Applied Linguistics. She has acquired a lot of professional experience in the private Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre, “Ząbkowska”, where she has organised workshops for juvenile delinquents, and counselling sessions for parents. She also conducted training sessions for parents in the Moms Club in Bemowo.
Anna is an adjunct at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics of Warsaw University. She holds the title of Master of Applied Linguistics, Master of Law and Doctor of Linguistics. She is a translato and a lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Post-graduate Studies in Translation and Interpreting at the Institute of Applied Linguistics.
Agnieszka graduated with a degree in English and Russian philology from the Institute of Applied Linguistics of Warsaw University. She is an experienced English language teacher. In addition, she has a wealth of experience working with all age groups – primary school, high school, and university students. As an academic, she teaches practical English courses, as well as courses in business English and translation. Her experience has allowed her to correctly identify the needs of various age groups, and discover the correct way of teaching foreign languages, its applied forms and methods. She has graduated with a post-graduate degree in education from the Faculty of Education of Warsaw University. When it comes to her professional work, she ‘gives it her all’ – be it a class of 6-year-olds or a group of students.
Emilia Królak, PhD
Emilia is a graduate of the Institute of English Studies of the University of Warsaw and a Doctor of Humanities. She is an academic, an English teacher, and a methodologist in a language school. Her interests include linguistics, psychology, and the creation of foreign language teaching materials.
A conductor, composer, and vocalist. He is a graduate of the renowned A. Svieshnikov Choir School and Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Singing and choral conducting divisions). In the years 1991–1996, he studied choral conducting and composition at the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. For many years, he has taught singing courses for youths all across Poland. He is a renowned specialist on vocal pedagogy, and is often invited as a member of the jury in various singing contests. In addition, he himself is active as a vocalist. He has performed at philharmonics in Lublin, Kalisz, Opole, Łódź, and Bydgoszcz, in the TVP studio in Łódź, the “Blue Note” club in Poznań, at the Old Theatre in Lublin, and the University of Gdańsk, in addition to numerous other prestigious venues.
Vistula University post-graduate admissions are conducted on a ’first-come, first-served basis’. Post-graduate candidates must submit the following documents:
- application form – download,
- BA or MA programme diploma or copy,
- Identity card copy (the original for verification),
- 1 photograph (37×52 mm),
- Tuition confirmation of payment.
The entire cost of tuition is: PLN 4,150
The tuition can be paid in a single instalment, or two instalments, one for each semester:
- PLN 2100 – 1st instalment to be paid before the start of the academic year.
- PLN 2100 – 2nd instalment to be paid before the start of the 2nd semester.
We offer a 10% discount for students who pay in a single instalment.
An advance on the tuition fee of PLN 200 must be paid before the 30th of September, 2017.
