    Work-related duties or travels do not have to stand in your way to having access to higher education. At Vistula University, you have the possibility to enrol in online programmes, enabling you to decide yourself, about when and where you want to complete 60% of your chosen course. Finances and Accounting at the Bachelor’s level is one of the distance learning programmes that we offer. It will allow you to acquire the knowledge of banking, insurances, and financial markets, as well as accounting and taxes.

    The Bachelor’s programme in Finances and Accounting has been designed for those with a liking and special talents in mathematics and logic, and who want to develop their professional skills in finances.

    Over the course of three years, you will be introduced into subjects, such as income planning, venture profitability calculation, and ensuring company solvency. You will master controlling costs, managing taxes, and booking company’s operations. In addition to theoretical knowledge, you will be able to develop your potential in your chosen sub-major, and you will find out how to apply the knowledge you have acquired to real-world problems.

  • The curriculum of the Finances and Accounting (Bachelor’s level) programme encompasses four sub-majors, each with carefully selected courses. Each sub-major is closely related to the needs of the modern economy,

    The three-year programme is aimed at expanding your knowledge and skills in finances and accounting:

    When it comes to finances, the studies will help you understand the inner workings of financial sectors and banks’ activities.

    When it comes to accounting, the studies will introduce you to the world of financial settlements, and will be your first step towards becoming an accountant.

    The greatest advantage of studying online, is the fact that it is you who decides when you want to study. No less than 60% of the overall course is taught over the Internet, and the remaining course elements take place during the first and the last session of each semester.

    The distance learning programme will be taught with the help of:

    • Learning sessions, using self-study materials, developed by our E-learning department based on the materials provided by the lecturer.
    • Live sessions using webcams.
    • In-class course elements, taking place at the beginning and the end of each semester, during weekend sessions.


    Vistula University emphasises the practicality of taught material, using it to gain skills which are sought-after on the job market. This is why we offer non-obligatory internships to distance learning students of Finances and Accounting, as well. You will be able to complete your internship in Poland, or abroad, with the help of the Erasmus Plus programme. Studying online will give you great flexibility, but also great development prospects, usually reserved for full-time programmes.

  • The Finances and Accounting programme enables you to gain specialist knowledge of your chosen area of the economy, especially finances and accounting, by offering you no less than six sub-majors.

    You will gain specialist knowledge of the principles governing the banking sector, aimed at commercial services. You will learn everything about the banking system, its institutions, and financial phenomena occurring in the market economy. You will also come to know everything about banking services and products.

    You will learn the skills necessary in professional work within the insurance sector, as well as in insurance instrument, creation risk management. You will gain the theoretical basis necessary, to proficiently navigate the field of economic insurance.

    By choosing this sub-major, you will gain the knowledge, skills, and competencies from the area of finance, accounting, and the workings of financial markets. You will learn in detail about their mechanisms, instruments, actors, and the relations between them. You will learn the inner workings of the domestic and international financial markets, and what are their institutional and capital relations.

    You will gain the basic knowledge of the accounting system, its functions, types, principles, and techniques of accounting – especially of the international kind.     ACCA Accounting and Taxes is a unique sub-major, which was established as a result of Vistula University obtaining the prestigious accreditation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. ACCA is one of the most prestigious, professional qualifications from the area of finance and accounting, recognised by employers worldwide. Holding it increases your chances of promotion to a management position and professional success. ACCA is one of the largest and most important international certification organisations from this field. It operates in 180 countries, and numbers more than 450 thousand students.

    This sub-major will enable you to gain the title of international-class specialist in corporate financial management. The curriculum and exams are compliant with both university standards regarding taxes and accounting, as well as ACCA guidelines. As a graduate, you will receive a diploma issued by Vistula University, together with a supplement confirming that you passed your chosen ACCA examinations.

    Marek Kulczycki, PhD

    Management Board Member, acting in the capacity of President of the Management Board of FM PBP SA, Doctor of Economics (1976), a graduate of the Faculty of International Trade of the Warsaw School of Economics. From 1971 to 1980, he was a teaching and research fellow at the Warsaw School of Economics. Marek has authored dozens of research papers, text books, and books on economics and finance. He was employed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) in Vienna (1980–1986). He was also Department Head in the Ministry of Foreign Trade (1987–1991), being responsible for Poland’s collaboration with OECD countries. In 1991, he was Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In May 1992, he was employed by the Polish-American Enterprise Fund, where he led a loan programme for small and medium enterprises.
