    If you’ve only kept up-to-date with the international policy so far, but you would now like to have a real influence on shaping such a policy, then the International Relations (Master’s programme) is for you. During four semesters, you will learn how to design a strategy in international policy, and carefully manage global problems, making at the same time, ethical decisions.

    The Master’s programme in International Relations is also an opportunity to broaden knowledge and skills, which are required in world diplomacy. This means that the studies will present you with global opportunities. After finishing the studies, you will be able to fulfill yourself in the region of the world, which most interests you.

    The International Relations programme was created on the basis of international standards. It takes into account the latest trends and changes in politics and the world economy. The studies balance the theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The classes are conducted by experts, such as the former ministers, ambassadors, and the employees of “think-tanks”. This makes the International Relations (Master’s programme) a guarantee of sound knowledge.

    In the Academy of Finance and Business Vistula, we focus on passing on knowledge practically, as in the case of International Relations. The studies represent the perfect opportunity to gain theoretical knowledge and valuable experience, as well as to make first acquaintances, which are very important in the work of a diplomat. Therefore, during the Master’s programme, each student will undertake an internship within partner organisations of our Academy.

  • While studying the International Relations (Master’s programme), you can choose one of three specialisms: international business relations II, strategic studies, or international organisations and global policy.

    This specialism will enable you to learn how to conduct serious international projects on your own. You will deepen your knowledge related to the activities within the international business environment, as well as foreign investments. You will acquire skills in global marketing, and see the value of political risk in business relations. You will learn the role of modern technologies in politics and the global economy.

    SPECIALISM: Strategic studies
    This specialism is perfect for those people who are good analysts and strategists. You will deepen your knowledge related to the perspectives of the international order, which changes significantly these days. You will learn to forecast and diagnose long-term trends, which influence the shape of international relations.

    You will get to thoroughly know the operating methods of international organisations. You will deepen your knowledge of the processes which shape global policy. Finishing this specialism will enable you to work both in international state organisations (such as the UN, EU or The World Bank) and international non-governmental organisations (such as Amnesty International or International Red Cross).

    Dr hab. Marta Gotz

    PhD. Associate Professor at Vistula University in Warsaw since February 2016. Previously she has been research fellow at the Institute for Western Affairs (Instytut Zachodni) in Poznań – research centre under auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; teaching assistant in the Department of International Economics, at Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw; has received scholarship SPIRIT at Aalborg University (Denmark). She has conducted individual and team projects granted by the National Science Centre and the Visegrad Fund. She is a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB), European International Business Academy (EIBA) and Brussels-based association FinanceWatch.


    Mgr Tomoyuki Hashimoto

    Tom Hashimoto, LL.M. specialises in post-socialist transition, and his recent research focuses on Warsaw as a vital international securities market centre in comparison to Prague, Budapest and Vienna. His approach is based on Financial Geography as well as Economic Analysis of Law, while he affiliates with the so-called ‘English School’ within the International Relations theories. He holds a BA in International Relations from Boston University, an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics, and an LL.M from the University of Hamburg (EMLE).

    Dr Davide Marciano

    Davide Marcianò is assistant professor in international law at Vistula University (Poland) and at the Salento University (Italy) where he teaches international public law and international trade law. He graduated with honors in Law at the Salento University and was awarded a PhD in international trade law at the Advanced School ISUFI of Lecce (Italy). He was visiting scholar at Hebrew University (Israel) Center for International and Comparative Law. He has participated as a speaker at some international conferences and collaborates with European research centres. He is also a lawyer and counsel of several universities, public and private institutions and NGOs in EU projects (research and innovation projects) and international cooperation projects.


    Professor Longin Pastusiak

    A historian and political scientist, an expert on the United States, politician, member of the Polish United Workers’ Party, Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland, and the Democratic Left Alliance. From 1991 to 2001, he was a Member of Parliament, and, from 2001 to 2005, a Senator and Speaker of the Senate. He has authored more than 760 research publications, including 90 books.


    Andrzej Olechowski, PhD

    A politician and economist, who was Minister of Finance in 1992, and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1993 to 1995. He was a presidential candidate in 2000 and 2010, and was one of the co-founders of the political party, Civic Platform. Since the 23rd of July, 2012, he has been President of the Supervisory Board of Bank Handlowy (he was President of the Board in 1991–1996, and 1998–2000, as well). He has also been a member of numerous advisory committees in foreign companies.


    Małgorzata Maliszewska, PhD

    Małgorzata is an adjunct at Vistula University, and a Judge of the Court of Arbitration of the Insurance Ombudsman. She is a member of the Curriculum Council of Insurance Forum for World Leaders in Banking and Insurance. In addition, she is a member of the Awards Committee of the Polish Chamber of Insurance for the best journalistic article on insurance.

    Dr Hab. Wojciech Kostecki - Uczelnia Vistula

    Politolog, specjalista w zakresie stosunków międzynarodowych, absolwent Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Autor wielu publikacji naukowych na temat współczesnych zagadnień międzynarodowych, problematyki bezpieczeństwa, mediów, konfliktów oraz teorii polityki. Uczestnik krajowych (NCN) oraz międzynarodowych programów badawczych ( na Uniwersytecie w Cambridge, Uniwersytecie Kopenhaskim, Berghof Research Center). Członek European International Studies Association i uczestnik Global Security Fellows Initiative. W latach 2007–2011 przewodniczący Zespołu ds. stanu zagrożeń społeczeństwa i państwa Komitetu Badań nad Zagrożeniami PAN.

    Dyplomata i wieloletni ambasador przy NATO. Członek Stowarzyszenia Euro-Atlantyckiego, którego był prezesem w latach 2007-2009 oraz członek Rady Ambasadorów Akademii Dyplomatycznej Fundacji Pułaskiego. Pełnił funkcję ambasadora RP, przy organizacjach międzynarodowych w Wiedniu, w Hiszpanii, przy NATO i UZE w Brukseli. Były pełnomocnik ministra spraw Zagranicznych ds. Przeglądu Polskiej Polityki Bezpieczeństwa a także były koordynator prac BBN nad Przeglądem Bezpieczeństwa Polski. Pełnił również funkcje kierownicze w MSZ, dyrektora departamentów, członka zespołu negocjującego przystąpienia Polski do NATO, negocjatora tzw. Adaptowanego Traktatu CFE oraz Przedstawiciela Urzędującego Przewodniczącego OBWE. Autor kilkudziesięciu publikacji w kraju i za granicą. Odznaczony wysokimi orderami polskimi, hiszpańskim, litewskim i ukraińskim, w tym: Krzyżem Oficerskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski w 1998 roku oraz Odznaką Honorową “Bene Merito” w 2012 roku.

    Dr Hab. Anna Antczak Barzan - Uczelnia Vistula

    Absolwentka filologii angielskiej oraz stosunków międzynarodowych Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Autorka kilku monografii oraz kilkudziesięciu artykułów z zakresu polityki bezpieczeństwa Unii Europejskiej, a także public relations, wydawanych w wysokopunktowanych ogólnopolskich i międzynarodowych pismach naukowych. W 2013 r. została odznaczona Medalem Komisji Edukacji Narodowej, natomiast w 2015 r. brązowym Medalem za Długoletnią Służbę za szczególne osiągnięcia w obszarze nauki i szkolnictwa wyższego, nadanym przez Prezydenta RP. Członek rady naukowej „Kwartalnika Bellona i „International Scientific Journal Diplomacy and Law” oraz recenzent jednego z najlepszych politologicznych czasopism naukowych „International Interactions”. Laureatka stypendium naukowego im. Eisenhowera Akademii Obrony NATO w Rzymie, ekspert ds. bezpieczeństwa i relacji międzynarodowych Business Centre Club oraz członek Stowarzyszenia Euro-Atlantyckiego, a także MENSA International.

Obecnie współpracownik polskich i zagranicznych ośrodków studiów międzynarodowych. Doradca dyplomatyczny Krajowej Izby Gospodarczej, Członek Rady Fundacji Amicus Europae oraz cżłonek Stowarzyszenia Euro-Atlantyckiego. Ambasador ad personam.

    Absolwent Wydziału Dyplomatyczno-Konsularnego Szkoły Głównej Służby Zagranicznej w Warszawie (1961 r.). W latach 1975-1993 pracownik naukowy Polskiego Instytutu Spraw Międzynarodowych. Były przewodniczący Rady Naukowej Instytutu Stosunków Międzynarodowych UW oraz były kierownik Zakładu Integracji Europejskiej ISM. Przewodniczący Rady Naukowej prze dwie kadencje w Instytucie Stosunków Międzynarodowych UW oraz kierownik zakładu Integracji Europejskiej również w Instytucie Stosunków Międzynarodowych UW. Autor wielu publikacji naukowych.

    Doktor nauk humanistycznych w zakresie nauk o polityce, mgr historii sztuki, MBA, dziennikarz i dyplomata. Dyrektor/redaktor naczelny Polskiego Radia dla Zagranicy i członek Rady Nadzorczej TVP SA. W latach 2011 – 2014 przewodniczący Rady Nadzorczej Polskiego Radia RR „Radio dla Ciebie” . W latach 2005-2009 dyrektor Instytutu Polskiego w Lipsku. Pełnił również wiele innych funkcji kierowniczych w mediach publicznych, w tym w Telewizji Polskiej i Polskim Radiu.     In the Academy of Finance and Business Vistula, we focus on the usefulness of the knowledge we pass onto students. Therefore, we not only teach the theory, but we also offer narrow specialisms and interactive classes, which develop our students to the maximum.

    International Relations (Master’s programme) will give you the opportunity to work in diplomacy and global business. The graduates of this major can apply for work in:

    • international corporations,
    • the representations of foreign organisations and institutions,
    • foreign trade offices and export departments,
    • the mass media, which deal with international affairs and public administration,
    • international organisations with a registered office in Poland (OSCE, OdiHR, the Community of
    • Democracies, UNDP, the Council of Europe, the European Commission, as well as the UN, ILO, and the WHO).
